Sidepodcast - All for F1, and F1 for All
Sidepodcast's homepage is looking a little repetitive this weekend. F1Minute widget featues triple-Hamilton imagary.
While the top half of the homepage has Pastor seeing double. Hope someone else makes the headlines on Sunday. While redesigning the popular pre-race information post on Sidepodcast we struggled to fit in all the text when reading in portrait mode. The solution we settled on is to selectivly hide less vital data that can be 'revealed' when switching your phone or tablet into landscape view.
Here is a screenshot of just the essential press conference information in portrait view.
While here's the expanded table (including who a person is representing) when flipped into landscape mode.
This trick also works for other tables in the race information pos, plus on many other tables elsewhere on the site.
Enjoy!
Loving how this table of F1 testing times resizes so nicely for mobile use.
For when there's no Factbyte Factbox, my prefered commenting setup:
We need a better way of highlighting upcoming events, but check out all the fun we'll be having tomorrow on Sidepodcast.
MotoGP, Indycar and a brand new... err... thing. Whooop!
Some people having issues getting onto F1.com today.
We don't really have anywhere to upload this right now, we'll work on adding something to the site, but in the meantime here's the first live show of 2012 in full.
Whereas, Autosport's own countdown (visible when logged in) makes it just 2 days, 19 hours.
We've updated the race information bar on Sidepodcast this weekend. Updates include a countdown to the next race, and carousel panel that displays session times in your local timezone, the timezone where the race is being held and also in GMT.
The carousel is especially fun on touch screen devices, such as your mobile phone or a tablet, because you can swipe left and swipe right to move between panes.
Remember hitting the 'R' key expands the race information panel.
Expect the carousel to see more use on the site. The homepage already puts it to good use displaying recent F1 Big Picture updates.
Again you can slide left or right to see new images, or click the buttons on non touch screen devices.
